Check a message for scam warning signs

Task: Safety Level: New to AI

Here's a message I received: [paste the message, without your own personal details]. List any common scam warning signs you see in it, and tell me how I could check it with the company directly, without using anything in the message.

Why it works: It asks for warning signs and a safe way to check, rather than a yes-or-no verdict that could be wrong.

Check the answer: Never use links, phone numbers or email addresses from the message itself. Look up the company's official website yourself and contact it from there.

Works in any chat assistant. Change the parts in [brackets].

Worked example

Here's a message I received: [Your parcel is on hold. Pay a $1.99 redelivery fee within 24 hours at this link]. List any common scam warning signs you see in it, and tell me how I could check it with the company directly, without using anything in the message.

A message with no warning signs can still be a scam. If you're unsure, don't click, and check on the official site.
