Sources and licenses
Where every number and headline on this site comes from, what we're allowed to do with it, and when it was last updated. If a source is unavailable, we keep showing its last good data and say so.

Epoch AI Benchmarking Hub
- Used for
- Benchmarks: the Epoch Capabilities Index and 5 benchmarks Epoch runs itself.
- Data
- Downloadable CSV archive, updated daily by Epoch.
- License
- CC BY 4.0. Epoch: "free to use, distribute, and reproduce provided the source and authors are credited." Benchmark data Epoch collects from other projects keeps its original license, so we don't include it.
- Credit
- Epoch AI, ‘Capabilities & benchmarking’. Published online at epoch.ai. Retrieved from https://epoch.ai/benchmarks.
- Our copy
- benchmarks.json (the subset we show, same license).
OpenRouter Models API
- Used for
- Free models and the homepage highlights.
- What we take
- Model metadata only: name, provider, date added, context length, price and the free flag, from the public models endpoint.
- Terms
- OpenRouter Terms of Service. Credited as "Model list and prices: OpenRouter". We don't republish the raw file.
- Not used
- The optional benchmark scores in OpenRouter's data come from Artificial Analysis, whose terms don't allow republishing them. We leave them out.
News feeds
We show the headline, source, date and link only. No article text or images. Each feed's terms were checked before adding it.
-
Google: AI blog
Feed · Google Terms of Service
Public RSS feed; Google’s terms limit automated access only where robots.txt disallows it, and the feed path is allowed.
-
Google DeepMind
Feed · Google Terms of Service
Public RSS feed; robots.txt allows all paths.
-
Hugging Face blog
Feed · Hugging Face Terms of Service
Public RSS feed; no restriction on linking headlines found; robots.txt allows all paths.
-
MIT News: AI
MIT News offers RSS feeds for syndication. We show the headline and link back to the original story.
Considered and left out for now: feeds whose site terms prohibit automated collection or data extraction (for example the OpenAI, NVIDIA and AWS sites), and vendors without a public feed.
Update schedule
A script fetches every source once a day (11:17 UTC), checks the data, and proposes the update for review. Nothing goes live until a person approves it. If a source fails, its last good data stays up with its original date.
Snapshots in this build: benchmarks 270 models, OpenRouter 468 models, news 80 headlines.
